From being on Washington’s most-wanted list to becoming the most-wanted real estate agent in the area, I’ve transformed my life and proven to myself and others that it is never too late to choose life.
Speeding down the highway, the sirens closing in behind me, red and blue lights flashing in the side mirrors—this was it. My car was running on fumes, and I didn’t want to go back to prison. I had a plan, one that I thought was my only way out: suicide by cop. But then, as I looked into the barrel of an officer’s gun, something changed. I felt the weight of a decision: Did I want to go out this way? Or was it time to choose life? My heart pounding, I raised my hands out of the window, surrendered, and chose to live.
Growing up in Everett, I didn’t get much of a head start in life. My parents were addicts, and our home was in one of the deadliest parts of town. My aunt stepped in when I was 8, taking me in to give me the kind of childhood my parents couldn’t. She worked multiple jobs, always pushing to give me and my cousin a better life. But that didn’t stop me from getting lost as I got older. Eventually, I found myself deep into selling drugs, carrying guns, and running from the law. By the time I got caught, I was 22 with enough charges to put me away for years.
Prison didn’t exactly change me overnight. When I first got out, I thought I could stay clean, but within months, I was back to my old ways. This time, I was more organized, and essentially running an illegal business. But as the stakes got higher, so did the risks. Soon, I was on the most wanted list—I lasted 21 days before I was caught.
But after my final arrest, that choice I’d made in the police chase came back to me. I wanted to live. I wanted something better, something more for my life. When I got out in 2018, it felt like starting from rock bottom: I had nothing but a bus ticket, forty dollars, and my grandpa’s couch to crash on. But I had a new focus. I stayed clean, working minimum-wage jobs, trying to build some foundation.
The day I got out of prison, I met Christina, the sister of my best friend, who’d been killed while I was locked up. We felt a spark instantly. She became my rock, helping me stay on track as I rebuilt my life and went through addiction recovery. Becoming a father to two amazing kids, Chance and Tyson, I felt a deep responsibility and commitment to turning my life around.
Soon, I was working in construction, then real estate in 2021—an industry where my past didn’t exactly make things easy. I worried my criminal record would follow me everywhere. But I decided to be upfront with my story, betting on authenticity versus pretending the past never happened. I took the risk of putting it out there: the good, the bad—all of it.
By some miracle, that transparency worked.Within three weeks, I’d closed my first sale. From that moment on, I threw everything I had into building my business, documenting each step on social media. People saw my dedication, and soon, referrals started coming in steadily. By the end of my first year, I became Rookie of the Year at my firm and started gaining a reputation as a trusted agent. In my second year, I was among the top agents in the county and have been ever since!
All the odds were stacked against me, but I made a choice for myself and my family to do better. If I could turn things around, I hope it inspires others to know they can too. It’s never too late to choose life, to choose a better path.
In real estate, I specialize in working with clients who often feel overlooked: first-time home buyers and individuals rebuilding their lives. These clients might have limited financial resources or credit issues, but they’re determined to achieve stability, and I’m passionate about helping them get there. I’m skilled at navigating complex financing, like Washington State down payment assistance programs and VA loans for veterans. I’m also a listing specialist, helping sellers maximize their profits. I love talking with clients about their goals, and by the end of the process, when I hand over their keys, they’re crying tears of joy with their families beside them, realizing they finally have a place to call their own.
I’ve built my business on these rewarding relationships, with clients who trust me because of my openness about my own journey. They know my background and feel comfortable sharing their challenges with me because they know I’ve been there, too. This approach, combined with my commitment to working hard for the people I represent every single day, is what makes what I do so unique—and it’s why I’m dedicated to helping as many people as I can find stability and security through real estate.
Sincerely,
